True Awakening Mission Trip Notes
May 14th through June 3rd 2014

The three of us started in Dallas and flew to Nairobi Kenya by way of London. Upon arriving in Nairobi early in the morning Bob took a flight to Mwanza in Tanzania to monitor our feeding program there More than 45 hard core street children were fed and given soap to bathe.

Bob returned to Nairobi where he rejoined the rest of the team Penny and Robyn, and then flew to Lilongwe in Malawi where we were met by Bishop Magangani and made the five hour drive to Mzuzu.

Sunday was a day of rest church services and preparing for our first Healing training class. Monday ended being another day for preparation since it was Election Day and nothing was open. We did our first Healing class in Mzuzu with 30 attendees who were either HIV positive or had AIDS or family members who were infected. The purpose of the class is to help them gain strength and know how to heal spiritually, even if physical healing wasn’t possible.

We then visited the Chilambwe and Msomba schools. On these school visits we verify that the children are being fed. We do this by observation and also interviewing the children. Something that reinforced for us was that because of the feeding the children are doing better in school. One boy told me that he walked 5KM in the dark passing another school which was closer because he heard the children from this school were being accepted into what we would call High School, in Malawi it is a competition. He didn’t know about the feeding program when he first came to Msomba School.

We then did two more Healing Classes in different areas of Malawi, one was on the Tanzania border, where we found another school needing a feeding program and we will start it in August. We will visit it on our trip in 2015.

We began this Ministry nine years ago feeding 30 children and this coming year 2015 we will feed about 425,000 meals. If you would like to join us on one of our Mission Trips contact us at our email address or by phone we would love to have you.

The next planned trip is Summer 2023. We are still determining the different projects that will be worked on, but the two feeding programs have to have an annual visit to assure they are on-going and that the reports we get are accurate. Four different projects under consideration.
